Type of inverter

String inverters

 These inverters are small, compact, highly efficient devices with lighter weight construction. The power output range is usu­ally from 2 kW to 20 kW. Because they are designed to be wired to a single series string of solar modules, they have been cal­led string inverters. String inverters comes in single-phase or three-phase version with outdoor or indoor enclosures.

String inverters are used for a wide range of applications, from small residential to large-scale ground mounted systems. Any solar pv- power plant system designed with string invertor would normally deliver higher yields, thanks to the distributed MPPT(multiple power point tracking) facility and loses of the DC side are higher than on AC side.

Central inverters

Central inverters are a cost-effective approach to developing large-scale solar systems. Inverters are robust and heavy with forced ventilation cooling. The power output range is usually from 50 kW to 1500 kW. Central inverters are monolite or modular too(for cutting down risk factor), mostly used in large scale power plants, such inverters come with standard built in LCD displays, alarm light controls, grid connection settings possibility as well as integrated communication ports.
